Pinterest Ads Conversion Tracking + Shopping Campaign Optimization
PrestaShop Pinterest Ads Tag CAPI tracking connects your store to Pinterest Ads so campaigns can be measured against real shopping behaviour, not visits alone. It helps store owners and agencies see whether Pinterest traffic becomes product and category views, searches, carts, wishlist actions, checkout steps, sign-ups or completed orders.
The module starts browser tracking only after a numeric Tag ID is stored, with switches for standard Pinterest events and optional enhanced match data when a customer is logged in. Custom event rules can use clicks, URLs, page matches or on-page actions, while consent-aware loading can wait for supported MPR cookie consent signals before tracking begins.
Optional Conversions API support can queue eligible browser and order events when credentials are configured, with diagnostics, a test event and retry handling in the Back Office. Tracking setup stays visible without theme-code edits.
- Digit-only Tag ID requirement. Browser tracking stays inactive until the module is enabled and a numeric Pinterest Tag ID is stored.
- Standard event switches. The config includes PageVisit, ViewContent, ViewCategory, AddToCart, InitiateCheckout, Checkout, Search, AddToWishlist, and SignUp toggles.
- Enhanced match when customer data exists. The browser data builder can pass email hash fields, external ID, first name, and last name derived from the logged-in customer.
- Consent-aware booting. When configured, the script waits for supported MPR cookie consent modules and also listens for their consent events before starting.
- Custom event rules. Merchants can define up to 15 custom Pinterest event types using click, URL, page-matching, or browser-event triggers, with sanitized parameters.
- Conversions API queue. Optional CAPI support uses ad account details, connection credentials, test mode and batch limits to send eligible browser and order events.
- Diagnostics and test event. The Back Office screen shows CAPI queue diagnostics and includes actions to send a test event or retry failed queued events.

Connect ad spend to real orders
When completed checkout/order-confirmation events are reported back with order data, you can compare Pinterest campaign cost against actual revenue instead of guessing from traffic alone. That is important because Pinterest may influence a shopper weeks before the final order, and weak measurement can make a profitable campaign look unimportant. The module helps you see which ads lead to sales and which ones need adjustment.

Reduce missed conversions from blocked browser tracking
Browser-only tracking can miss purchases because of consent choices, tracking prevention or ad blockers. With the extra conversion connection configured, important purchases can be sent from the server side, queued, retried and deduplicated against browser events. This helps reduce missed conversions while avoiding the reporting damage caused by counting the same order twice.

Pinterest Tag keeps the tag ID, event toggles, Conversions API credentials, custom event rules, consent behavior, staff exclusion and diagnostics in one PrestaShop configuration surface. It requires no theme-code edits for normal setup, and built-in diagnostics plus a test event help you confirm tracking before you rely on it for campaign decisions. Because it is a tracking integration rather than a visible widget, there is no responsive storefront layout to maintain, and the page impact is limited to the configured tracking scripts and events.
