Live Sales Notifications is a module for PrestaShop stores that turns real product views, valid orders and people currently viewing a product into visible proof beside the offer. After installation, one settings screen is enough to select the signals, and the design immediately follows the shop theme.

New and less familiar stores often have genuine activity that remains invisible. The module gives that activity a clear form: how many people viewed the product, how many valid orders included it, who is looking at it now and when recent purchases took place. Automated visits are excluded, repeated views are counted once within the set period, and sales come from valid shop orders.

The product page carries a compact statistics bar, while a click on the sold total opens recent purchases with privacy-safe buyer and location details. Sales badges extend the proof to product lists, and optional automatic cards show real orders on selected pages with the purchased product, its image and link. Timing, position and the number of displays per visit remain under the merchant's control.

Each signal has its own switch. The reporting period, live-presence window, minimum count and number of recent purchases are adjustable, while page, product and category rules determine where each format appears. Messages, prompts and explanations are written separately for every store language. Names and locations follow independent privacy settings, and the entire presentation inherits the colours, borders and shape of the active theme.

The result is credible social proof, less uncertainty around unfamiliar products, privacy-conscious use of real store activity and a setup that starts simply but grows into precise control.

What does the module add to a product page?

  • Real product views counted without repeated visits inflating the result
  • Sales totals based on valid orders from the shop
  • An accurate count of people viewing the product now
  • Recent purchase details opened by the shopper
  • Sales proof on product lists and in optional automatic cards
  • Control over wording, placement, timing, privacy and display thresholds

Live Sales Notifications turns activity already happening in a PrestaShop store into proof shown at the buying decision. The sections below cover what appears, where the figures come from, how the formats work, which controls the merchant receives, how buyer data is protected and how quickly the module starts.

Why do the numbers deserve trust?

Product views are counted from distinct shop visitors and repeated openings by the same visitor are combined within the selected period. Valid orders supply the sales total and the recent-purchase list. Automated, datacenter and internal traffic is rejected before it changes the proof, so a busy crawler does not make a quiet product look popular.

The watching-now figure follows active presence rather than an old page opening. It expires when a visitor leaves or changes product, and it refreshes when activity changes. Every figure is scoped to the current shop and product, which keeps the evidence connected to the offer it describes.

What does the customer see?

The product page shows a restrained bar with viewed, sold and watching-now totals. The sold figure opens a list of recent purchases only after it is selected, including the buyer presentation allowed by the privacy settings, a suitable location level and the time since purchase in the current store language.

On product lists, a small sold badge carries useful proof before the product page opens. Optional automatic cards bring real orders to selected pages across the shop. Each card identifies the purchased product with its real image and link, while delay, visible time, interval, position and a per-visit limit prevent the message from becoming an interruption.

How precisely does the merchant control the display?

Views, sales, current viewers, recent purchases, list badges and automatic cards each have their own switch. The merchant sets the reporting period, the live-presence window, the number of purchases shown and the minimum amount of activity required before proof appears.

Include and exclude rules cover page types, individual products and categories. Message text, prompt and explanation are edited separately for every store language, with product, count, buyer, location and purchase-time details inserted into the appropriate sentence. These controls keep a simple default while supporting different markets and catalogue areas from one administration screen.

How are privacy and the shop's design protected?

Buyer names are masked by default. Separate controls decide whether the name, city, country or a broader location appears, and a minimum anonymity threshold suppresses combinations that would identify a person in a low-volume area. Product visibility and customer access are verified before purchase details are returned.

The module reads the visual language of the active theme and applies its colours, text tones, borders, corner shape, shadows and movement to every format. The result belongs visually to the shop without a separate design job, while view and order evidence remains within the store's own environment.

How quickly does it start and stay current?

Installation opens one settings screen with sensible defaults. Enabling the required signals is enough for the product-page bar to appear, while the deeper rules, language text, thresholds and automatic-card rhythm remain available when the catalogue needs them.

Counters refresh after meaningful activity and when the shopper returns to the product page. Complete rows appear or disappear as values cross zero and the chosen threshold, recent purchases receive the correct local wording, and product-list totals are loaded together so large catalogues retain a smooth browsing experience.

Works Well With Live Sales Notifications

Modules our team genuinely pairs with this one, and exactly why each belongs in the same setup.

Complement

A merchant running Live Sales Notifications wants a quiet store to feel active, showing small storefront toasts based on real orders so first-time visitors notice that other people are buying. The goal is gentle reassurance at the moment of doubt, without dragging shoppers off the product page or relying on generic external popup scripts.

Product Sales & Views Live Stats works alongside this as a separate tool that turns recent product activity into configurable social proof directly on the product page, counting views by distinct guest within a window and basing sales figures on valid orders, with optional listing badges and a recent-purchases modal. Where the notification is a moving site-wide nudge, this anchors per-product context where the buying decision actually happens.

Running both covers two different surfaces of the same reassurance need: the floating toast catches passing attention, the on-page counter answers the shopper already weighing one product. Together they help a careful merchant present honest, order-based activity in more than one place, supporting confidence without inventing scarcity.

Measurement

A merchant using Live Sales Notifications is actively trying to influence behaviour, nudging hesitant visitors with real-order toasts in the hope they convert. The natural follow-up question is whether that nudge is doing anything, and storefront impressions alone cannot answer it.

Google Analytics GA4 is a separate measurement tool that sends ecommerce activity from your store to Google Analytics 4, validating the Measurement ID before tracking and reporting product views, cart activity, checkout starts, purchases, searches and account events built from real PrestaShop actions. It gives you platform-neutral funnel data rather than another storefront widget.

Used alongside the notifications, GA4 lets you watch how product views, add-to-cart and checkout starts move over the periods you run the toasts, so decisions about timing and placement rest on funnel evidence instead of guesswork. The payoff is a clearer read on whether your social-proof effort is helping shoppers progress.

Complement

A merchant showing Live Sales Notifications is working on perceived activity, signalling that the store is busy and trusted through real-order toasts. That handles the social side of doubt, but shoppers also hesitate over concrete worries about payment, returns and delivery that a sales toast does not address.

Trust Badges is a separate tool that displays configurable reassurance messages on product pages and in the cart, managed from Back Office as editable items with an icon name and text. It shows the honest confidence signals you choose at the moments customers decide whether to continue, covering the practical reassurance the activity toast leaves untouched.

Together they answer two different forms of hesitation in the same journey: the notification says other people are buying, the badges state clearly what your store promises about payment, delivery and support. A merchant using both gives shoppers both kinds of reassurance side by side, supporting steadier progress toward checkout.

Welcome Popup
€49.00
Complement

A merchant running Live Sales Notifications wants the store to feel alive while people browse, using small real-order toasts to keep activity visible without interrupting the product page. That works during browsing, but the very first moment a visitor lands is a separate opportunity that a passive toast does not capture.

Welcome Popup is a different tool that shows a timed first-visit modal for announcements, discount messages or newsletter-style prompts, appearing after your configured delay and staying hidden for returning visitors who closed it until the cookie duration passes. It owns the arrival moment, where the notification works the ongoing browse.

Used alongside each other, the popup greets the new arrival with a clear message and the notifications keep reinforcing activity as they explore deeper. A merchant gets a deliberate opening statement plus continuous, order-based reassurance, supporting engagement from the first second through to the product page.
