Back to Top Button is a module for PrestaShop stores that adds a fixed button and returns the shopper smoothly to the top of a long page. Installation and four clear choices, activation, trigger distance, shape and side, are enough to put it to work.

Long categories, detailed product pages, guides and policy pages leave filters, search, navigation and the cart far above the current view. The button appears only after the distance set by the merchant, so it stays out of the way at the beginning of the visit and becomes available when the return is useful.

You choose the trigger distance, circle or true square, left or right, button and icon colours, size, edge spacing, opacity, appearance motion, scroll speed and a custom icon or text label. A live preview shows the result, while desktop and phone visibility are set separately.

The module verifies its installation, restores missing display placements and prevents duplicate buttons when a theme provides several suitable page endings. Each shop in a multi-store installation keeps its own settings, the interface and screen-reader label follow the selected language, and the store panel reports available updates.

The result is quicker access to the controls that continue shopping, a button that fits the storefront, less friction on long mobile pages and maintenance with a clear recovery path.

What does Back to Top Button change on a long shop page?

Back to Top Button adds a fixed return button to long PrestaShop pages and verifies after installation that the button is correctly connected to the storefront. A shopper reaches filters, search, navigation, account links and the cart with one action instead of reversing an entire scroll.

  • The return: when and how the button takes the page back to the top.
  • The trigger: the exact distance after which the control appears.
  • The appearance: shape, colour, size, icon, position, motion and live preview.
  • The reach: reliable theme placement, phone visibility and settings for each shop.
  • The maintenance: installation verification, repair, diagnostics and protected updates.
  • The daily result: the pages and shop controls that become easier to reach.

The initial setup stays small: activation, scroll distance, shape and left or right placement. The deeper controls remain available when the storefront needs an exact fit.

What happens after the shopper has scrolled far enough?

The button remains hidden until the page passes the chosen distance. The default is 300 pixels, and the field accepts a non-negative whole number within the supported range, rejecting a value that would make the control behave unpredictably.

One click or tap returns the page smoothly to the top. The control has a translated name for screen readers, works with a keyboard and sends no customer data to an outside service. Its only job is to restore the route to the shop controls above.

How closely does the button match the storefront?

You choose a circle or a true square, the button, icon and hover colours, width and height, a built-in arrow, your own icon or a text label. Left or right placement, precise edge spacing, opacity and priority over other floating elements keep it clear of chat, consent and cart controls.

Appearance motion and scroll duration are selected independently. The live preview updates with every choice, so size, contrast and position are settled in the store panel before the result reaches shoppers.

Desktop and phone visibility are separate decisions. A wide desktop layout keeps the shortcut where it suits the design, while a crowded phone screen uses its own setting.

How does it behave across themes and several shops?

The module uses three established positions near the end of a storefront page. When a theme provides more than one of them, the first successful placement wins and the remaining ones stay silent, so the shopper sees one button rather than duplicates.

In a multi-store installation, each shop keeps its own trigger, appearance, position and device visibility. A compact brand and a larger international storefront therefore share one module without being forced into one visual choice.

The integrity screen reports missing placements and restores them. The admin menu also rebuilds its missing entry when the module page is opened, keeping the settings reachable after a theme or shop change.

What does installation and maintenance require?

Installation creates the starting settings and immediately verifies the module state and storefront placements. The settings page shows the result, while the integrity screen repairs a disabled module or a missing placement and prepares a diagnostic report with the shop, server, database and installed-module context for support.

The update screen reports the installed and available release. Update availability also appears in the store panel, without requiring a visit to the update page.

Before replacing files, the updater validates the package and creates a complete backup. It preserves working data and restores the previous files when extraction or data restoration fails, so routine maintenance has a defined recovery path.

Which pages gain the most from the shortcut?

Category pages return to filters and sorting, detailed product pages return to the purchase area, and guides, FAQs and policy pages return to navigation and search. The same control follows the shopper across the storefront without asking the theme to provide a separate solution for every page type.

The gain is deliberately simple: less reverse scrolling, especially on a phone, and a visible next step at the point where a long page would otherwise end. The button supports browsing without interrupting the content that brought the shopper there.

Works Well With Back to Top Button

Modules our team genuinely pairs with this one, and exactly why each belongs in the same setup.

Filter Revolution

Workflow

If you have added the free Back to Top Button, you are clearly thinking about how shoppers move through long pages, and on a big catalogue the longest pages of all are usually category listings packed with products. The button helps people climb back to the header, menu, search or cart after scrolling, which is a sensible fix for a real navigation pain on mobile and rich CMS guides.

Filter Revolution works alongside it from the other direction. Rather than helping shoppers get back up a long list, it gives them the tools to make the list shorter in the first place: faceted filters with checkbox, radio, dropdown, slider and colour controls, clean filter URLs and optional SEO landing pages for selected product combinations. It is a separate, paid tool aimed squarely at large catalogues, a natural step up once the free button has shown you where browsing friction lives.

Run together, the pair covers both sides of long-list browsing. Filter Revolution helps customers narrow a crowded category down to what they actually want, while the back-to-top button keeps the navigation comfortable when a list is still long, so shoppers spend less time scrolling and more time reaching products that fit.

Complement

The free Back to Top Button is most useful precisely on the kind of large catalogue where visitors open several products, scroll a long way and need an easy route back up the page. If your store fits that pattern, you are already dealing with shoppers who browse deeply and move around a lot before deciding.

Recently Viewed Products helps that same browsing behaviour from a different angle. It adds a compact product-history block that remembers items in the shopper's browser for 30 days, with no login required, so people who opened and compared several products can return to familiar options without searching again. It is a separate, low-friction module that complements the navigation help the button already provides.

Together they reduce the small frustrations of comparison shopping in a big catalogue. The button keeps moving up and down a long page easy, while the recently viewed block gives shoppers a reliable shortcut back to products they looked at earlier, so interest is less likely to be lost between page visits.
