The general settings expose two switches: Show ISO label in toggle and Show currency names in dropdown. The first controls whether the closed header button displays only the symbol/sign or symbol/sign plus ISO code. The second controls whether the opened dropdown shows only symbols/signs or symbols/signs plus full currency names. The configuration class also adds theme style settings for visual variables such as colors, border, radius, shadow and transition.
The closed header toggle always shows the current currency symbol or sign, such as $, €, £ or the ISO code fallback. If Show ISO label in toggle is enabled, the toggle also shows the current ISO code next to the symbol. The opened dropdown always lists each currency with its symbol/sign, and if Show currency names in dropdown is enabled it also shows the full currency name beside each symbol.
The toggle does not render a hover tooltip. Currency names are used in the dropdown rows, including the link title attribute for each currency option.
No. It uses the currencies already configured in PrestaShop and builds switch links with SubmitCurrency=1&id_currency=.... It does not create currencies, edit exchange rates or calculate conversions. Currency availability, rates and pricing behavior remain handled by PrestaShop's currency configuration.
The module reads PrestaShop's active currencies, finds the current currency from the customer context, and renders a link for each available currency. Clicking a link asks PrestaShop to switch the visitor's selected currency; after that, PrestaShop handles price conversion, rounding, tax display and formatting exactly as it normally would.

The module registers its own selector in the displayNav2 hook and loads a stylesheet that hides PrestaShop's native desktop currency selector with #_desktop_ps_currencyselector { display: none !important; }. The customer sees the module's compact symbol dropdown instead of the default currency block.
It does not uninstall or edit PrestaShop's native currency module. It simply renders a replacement dropdown in the header/navigation hook and hides the standard desktop block with CSS. That makes the change reversible: disable or uninstall the module and the native selector can show again, assuming the theme still renders it.
The replacement uses the current currency's symbol in the toggle, optionally shows the ISO label next to it, and lists active currencies in the dropdown. The defaults are SHOW_LABEL=0 and SHOW_NAMES=1, so the toggle stays compact while the dropdown still shows full currency names. The module only renders when the shop is not in catalog mode and when PrestaShop returns more than one active currency. If there is only one active currency, the hook returns nothing, so no selector is displayed. Placement also depends on the theme rendering the displayNav2 hook in the header or navigation area.
Check these points first:
displayNav2. Some custom themes remove or move that hook.#_desktop_ps_currencyselector. If you are looking only for the old block, it is intentionally hidden while this module is active.If the selector still does not appear after enabling multiple currencies, inspect the page source for mprcurrency-dropdown. If that markup is missing, the hook is not rendering or the module returned early. If the markup exists but you cannot see it, the issue is theme CSS or header layout rather than currency availability.
The module loads its own CSS and JavaScript on the front office. The JavaScript only opens and closes the dropdown; it does not create the selector markup. So a missing selector is nearly always catalog mode, single-currency configuration, a missing displayNav2 hook, or theme styling hiding the rendered block.
