Icon System: Semantic Icons Across Themes

Semantic icon names mapped to Font Awesome or Material Icons. Theme detection, self-hosting fallback, and SVG sprite sheets for payment and social icons.

One icon name. Every theme.

PrestaShop themes use different icon fonts. A module hard-coding fa-shopping-cart looks broken where Font Awesome is absent; one using shopping_cart (Material) looks broken where Material Icons are absent.

The Icon System provides semantic icon names, cart, success, edit, delete, that automatically map to the right icon class for the active theme.

What it provides

  • Semantic names: 147 icon names that map to the icon system the active theme provides
  • Theme detection: automatically detects which icon set the active theme uses
  • Inline SVG fallback: where no icon font is available, the icon is drawn as inline SVG. The package never loads an icon font of its own.
  • Payment brand icons: 16 payment sprite sheets (Visa, Mastercard, PayPal and more) in light, dark and accent variants
  • Social media icons: 12 social platform SVG sprites with consistent styling

The modules that output icons use this system, so an icon resolves to whatever the active theme actually provides.
