How we use AI

Yes, we use AI, and we are open about it. This page explains which AI we use, what we use it for and which data it may see.

1. Developers first, AI as a tool

We have worked with PrestaShop since 2013 and run mypresta.rocks as a company since 2018, well before AI assistants became part of software development. Today AI is part of our daily workflow, in the hands of developers who know PrestaShop. A person reviews every change before it becomes a release; AI assistants never publish releases on their own.

2. Which AI we use

  • Frontier models only: for code, reviews, documentation and translations we use only frontier models from the leading AI labs, the best available on the market.
  • Local AI on our own machines: we also run AI models on powerful machines we own, for tasks that need extra privacy.

3. What we use AI for

  • writing, testing and reviewing module code, including security reviews
  • documentation, product pages and translations into our 6 languages
  • reading support messages and enquiries and preparing answers; a person checks and sends every reply

4. Which data AI may see

  • Your messages: the text of messages you send us (email, contact form, support tickets) may be processed by frontier AI services to help us understand and answer them.
  • Sensitive data stays on our machines: access to your shop (back office, SSH or FTP logins), server logs, credentials and exports of your customer or order data are handled only by a person or by local AI on our own machines, never by cloud AI services.
  • No training on your data: we do not use your data to train AI models.

5. AI features in our modules

Some modules offer optional AI features, such as generating meta descriptions or product content, or AI-assisted search. They work only when you add your own API key from a provider you choose, and they send that provider only the text the task needs (for AI-assisted search, the visitor's search query). Without such a key, our modules send nothing to AI services.
