Order Address Change: Customer Self-Service

"I put the wrong address on my order" is one of the most common support emails a shop gets — and native PrestaShop gives the customer no way to fix it themselves. They email you, you stop what you're doing, open the back office, and reassign the address by hand. If nobody catches the email in time, the parcel ships to the wrong door and you pay for the reship. Order Address Change: Customer Self-Service closes that gap.

What the customer sees. On the order-detail page in their account, two new panels: the delivery address and the billing address currently on the order. While the order is still eligible, they pick a different address from their own address book (or add a new one through the normal PrestaShop flow) and confirm — the panel updates in place, no page reload. When the order is no longer eligible, the panels say so plainly and point them to your contact page instead.

What it deliberately does NOT do. This is a straight address reassignment — exactly what you'd do in the back office. It never recalculates shipping, taxes or totals, never touches carriers, invoices or order contents, and never edits an address in place (PrestaShop's invoice-snapshot address handling is fully respected). If a change could have fiscal or fulfillment consequences, the module refuses and asks the customer to contact you.

Strict, fail-closed eligibility — you stay in control:

• An explicit allowlist of order statuses in which changes are permitted — empty by default, so nothing is possible until you turn it on
• A maximum order age window (default 24 hours)
• Billing locks the moment an invoice exists — fiscal documents are never contradicted
• Delivery locks as soon as the order has a tracking number, a delivery slip, a shipped or delivered status anywhere in its history, or a live warehouse shipment
• Guest orders, split orders, multi-shipment and virtual orders are excluded; only the order's owner, logged in, on the order's shop, can ever change anything

Race-safe by design. The check-out counter classic: the customer submits a change at the exact moment your warehouse marks the order shipped. The module re-checks every rule inside a locked database transaction immediately before writing — whoever wins the lock wins, and the loser sees the final state. No half-applied changes, ever.

A paper trail you can rely on:

• Append-only audit log: old and new address (full snapshots), order, customer, IP and timestamp — the module itself has no way to edit or delete entries, and the log survives uninstall
• Merchant email on every change, in your shop's language, with a direct link to the order
• Optional customer confirmation email in the customer's language, with an "if this wasn't you, contact us" safety note
• An actionOrderAddressChanged hook fires after every committed change, so your WMS or fulfillment integration can react automatically

Built the right way. Works on PrestaShop 1.6.1 through 9 and PHP 7.1+. No core overrides, no external services. The front end is progressive: instant AJAX with JavaScript, a plain form submit without it. Six languages included (English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Polish) across the interface and all email templates. Multistore-aware — configuration and notifications follow the order's shop.

v1 is deliberately focused: it reassigns addresses and nothing else. Shipping recalculation, carrier changes and merchant-approval workflows are out of scope by design — that keeps it safe enough to hand to your customers.
